Mr Evans said that isolation was heightened after the death of his father in 2016, when some of the first images Stoll downloaded could be traced from. He added Stoll had recently received a diagnosis placing him on the autism spectrum and that this had likely caused much of his difficulty in forming social connections. He added that Stoll had always lived an isolated life, with few friends and significant caring responsibilities for his mum. Mr Evans said: “He has always said, since his arrest, that he needs help.” He said Stoll fully recognised the gravity of what he did. Simeon Evans, defending, said Stoll was deeply remorseful about his behaviour and had already complete a course with a charity aimed at helping those who have downloaded images of child abuse address their behaviour.
Stoll later admitted to making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children as well as possession of extreme pornography. The court later heard babies judged to be around six months old were seen in some of the images in Stoll's possession and that he sent images to others of kids as young as six. Mr Cockrell said: “Police officers also discovered chatlogs on platforms as Wickr and Kik where it could be seen that the defendant was distributing indecent images of children in groups that he was responsible for setting up.” Addressing the content of the images found in Stoll’s possession, Mr Cockrell said: “They include videos of the utmost depravity.” READ MORE: Paedophile with knickers obsession took sick photos of girl Officers found 1,115 such pictures and videos and later discovered Stoll had used private groups on chat forums to distribute images. Nick Cockrell, prosecuting, said police raided Stoll’s home in November last year after receiving intelligence he had indecent images of children. Officers analysing his phones found the 25-year-old, from Warrington, had also downloaded images of young babies in what Liverpool’s top judge said was “truly shocking” abuse. Joshua Stoll used chat platforms Kik and Wickr to send indecent images to other paedophiles but still denies he has a sexual interest in children.
